Add a text watermark
Discourage reuse of your work, mark a document as "confidential" or "sample", or put your handle on a photo. Set the text, position, size and opacity and watch the preview update. Tile it diagonally and cropping the mark off becomes impractical.
Settings that stay out of the way
A watermark that shouts ruins the picture. Around 25-40% opacity, with the text sized to 4-6% of the shorter edge, stays readable without dominating. Use white on dark photos and black on bright ones.
Tiling
A single mark in a corner is trivially cropped away. Turn on tiling and the text repeats diagonally across the whole frame, so any crop still carries it — the usual approach for sample certificates and quotes.
Does a watermark protect copyright?
It deters casual reuse and signals origin; it is not legal protection in itself, and image processing can sometimes remove it. For valuable work, combine it with publishing at a lower resolution and keeping authorship data in your master files.
Frequently asked questions
Can I choose where it goes?
Yes: centre, any corner, or top/bottom centre. Tiling overrides the position and covers the whole image.
Can I use non-Latin text?
Yes. Japanese, accented Latin, symbols — anything you can type. The typeface comes from the system fonts of the device viewing the page.
Can I use a logo image instead?
This tool does text watermarks only; overlaying an image file is not supported.
Can a watermark be removed later?
Not from the exported file, so always keep your unwatermarked original somewhere safe.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything the page needs is loaded when you open it, and your photo is processed entirely on your own device. The image never crosses the network, so there is nothing to intercept and nothing stored on a server.
